Tips & Tricks

Every day tips to keep your windows clean

Regular Cleaning Schedule

Establish a regular cleaning schedule to prevent dirt and grime from building up on your windows. Depending on your location and environmental factors, you might need to clean them monthly or quarterly.

Use the Right Tools

Invest in quality window cleaning tools, including a squeegee, microfiber cloths, a window cleaning solution or a mixture of water and vinegar, and a bucket.

Clean from Top to Bottom

Start cleaning your windows from the top and work your way down to avoid streaks. This way, any drips or excess cleaning solution will be cleaned up as you progress.

Remove Dust and Debris

Before applying any cleaning solution, use a dry cloth or duster to remove dust, cobwebs, and other debris from the window surface and surrounding frames.

Choose the Right Cleaning Solution

Avoid using harsh chemicals that can damage your windows or harm the environment. Instead, opt for a mild solution of water and vinegar or a commercial window cleaner labeled safe for glass surfaces.

Squeegee Technique

When using a squeegee, start at the top corner of the window and pull it down in a straight, vertical motion. Wipe the blade with a clean cloth after each pass to prevent streaks.

Use Microfiber Cloths

Microfiber cloths are excellent for wiping away excess cleaning solution and buffing windows to a streak-free shine. They are highly absorbent and leave no lint behind.

Pay Attention to Frames and Tracks

Don't forget to clean the window frames, tracks, and sills as well. Use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner attachment to remove dirt and debris from these areas.

Consider Natural Alternatives

If you prefer eco-friendly options, you can use a solution of water and lemon juice or baking soda to clean your windows effectively.

Dry Thoroughly

After cleaning, use a dry microfiber cloth to ensure that the windows are completely dry and streak-free. This will help prevent water spots from forming.
